The very first production model of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V raised money for a good cause. The athletic SUV sold for $500,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction — and the proceeds benefitted the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design. On top of that, a generous patron at the event donated an additional $25,000.
Raising money for tomorrow’s innovators.
The Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design holds the honor of being Michigan’s only historically Black college. The school is famous for providing educational opportunities for creative students in fields ranging from STEM and sustainability to business development and the graphic arts.
Global Cadillac Vice President Rory Harvey explained that the brand upholds ambition and dreaming big, so sponsoring the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design is a natural fit. “We are grateful to Barrett-Jackson for providing a platform that will help make a difference for the next generation of creatives in Cadillac’s hometown of Detroit,” he further stated.
The Cadillac auction’s winning bidder won’t just get the first 2023 Escalade-V. They will also have the chance to design a sweet pair of shoes with popular footwear designer Dr. D’Wayne Edwards. Dr. Edwards is more than a high-profile designer — he also re-established the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design 2021.
