Prepare Your Chevrolet Vehicle for Winter

2020 Silverado 2500HD Near Beloit, WI

Winter can be harsh in Wisconsin and make daily driving more challenging. Prepare your Chevrolet vehicle for the cold weather ahead by following these tips.

Get an oil change

Staying on top of routine vehicle maintenance is important at all times of the year. That’s why you should schedule oil changes regularly to best protect your vehicle’s engine.

Inspect your lights

Headlights can give you the visibility necessary for driving at night or during snowstorms. Be sure to inspect your headlights as well as your fog lights and taillights before driving, and replace any bulbs that are burnt out.

Consider winter tires

You should take your vehicle in to the service department for regular tire rotations throughout the year.  In the winter, you can also opt for winter tires to have better traction on snowy roads.

Replace your wiper blades

If your wiper blades are leaving streaks or not functioning properly, replace them before the first snowstorm hits so that you can have better visibility.

Pack an emergency kit

You should keep an emergency kit in your vehicle in case you ever get stranded on the side of the road. Be sure to pack extra layers of clothing, water, a cellphone charger, jumper cables, snacks, flares and a flashlight.

We at Bud Weiser Motors encourage you to take your Chevrolet vehicle to our service department for replacements and routine maintenance before the winter season begins.
